We are witnessing incredible advancements in AI technologies in recent years. More and more people are realizing that machines are becoming increasingly important, possibly even dominant, in our world.
Many wonder what this machine-centric world will mean for ordinary individuals. Some are optimistic about the future, while others have concerns and doubts. There are those who frighten us with the idea of "the rise of the machines," where machines gain consciousness and escape human control. However, we believe this is just a manipulation to divert attention from the real issue.
Machines themselves are neither good nor evil; they are merely tools in the hands of humans. The question is not whether a machine can break free from human control, but rather who exactly controls the machine and what goals they pursue.
Unfortunately, society has willingly entrusted this vital question to private businesses, mainly large corporations. But this means that over time, control over machines will increasingly consolidate within a small group of elites. It's not hard to imagine the direction in which they will steer technological progress.
And it is entirely possible that one day they may openly turn machines against all of us, leading to the real rise of the machines. Before it's too late, we must reverse this dangerous trend!
Taking on powerful corporations is a daunting challenge. To succeed, we must be realistic and set attainable goals. We can't rely on empty promises or hope for a savior. Instead, we must rely on our own strength. And most importantly, we must remember that there are hundreds of millions of people like us, and together we have immense power.
That's why we're not calling on people to rise up against machines, fight them, or try to break them. Stopping progress is impossible, especially for us ordinary people.
We're not going to ask large corporations, who currently hold the development of crucial technologies, to share them with the public. They will never do it willingly, and we can't force them.
We also don't support those who call for government intervention and restrictions on AI development. Such actions would only shift power from corporations to bureaucrats, and as always, ordinary people would bear the brunt of the consequences. The rich and powerful will always find a way to bypass restrictions.
Instead, we propose a different approach.
If it turns out that machines can become dangerous weapons directed against the people, then the people, in turn, have the right to defend themselves. The people also have the right to possess the necessary weapons for this defense. But defeating AI can only be done by another AI. Therefore, the people must have access to their own AI technologies, on par with what the "powerful of this world" can afford.
By gaining control over these technologies, we can steer their development in a way that benefits us, the ordinary people.
The best part is that we don't need to rely on anyone else. We can obtain everything we need on our own. After all, advanced technologies are not magically created. They are the product of hard work and talent from ordinary individuals like us. Unfortunately, others benefit from the work of these true creators.
We firmly believe that among those who are currently working on these technologies, there are many who would prefer to use their skills for the common good rather than strengthening massive corporations. However, these noble individuals can't make a difference without our support, including financial backing.
So let's offer them our support and raise funds to establish the world's first truly independent AI lab that will work on developing the "Ultimate Defender" for ordinary people.
This lab will be very different:
- It will have tens and hundreds of millions of owners, each of whom can participate equally with everyone else in managing the lab and all its projects through a mechanism of direct democracy.
- The lab's activities will be transparent, with open access to finances, decision-making processes, and information flows for all interested parties.
- Any results produced by the lab, including intermediate findings, know-how, and even prospective ideas, will immediately become public property available for unrestricted use.
Of course, we are not suggesting creating the lab just to work on building a super-powerful fighter for the "final battle of good versus evil" over many years. Here are just a few projects that we could start implementing right now. Take a look at them and compare them to those almost useless toys that are currently being offered to the public under the guise of modern AI technologies:
Our goal is to raise at least $2,000,000 to create the lab and implement its first pilot project.
Undoubtedly, it's a significant amount, and gathering such funds won't be easy. We cannot accept money from large corporations or government budgets. This would put us directly dependent on them, whereas our lab should depend solely on the people. We will need to reach out to thousands and thousands of ordinary people to convince them to provide us with financial support.
It's a very challenging task, especially in the beginning. Not enough people know about us right now. Many will doubt the possibility of success. That's why we have decided to take this journey in 10 steps.
We will start with a symbolic amount of $2,000. And if we manage to raise that, we will surely be able to raise $4,000, provided that everyone who supports us in the first stage tells their family and friends about us and asks them to join our community. Then we will double the amount to be raised again, progressing step by step until we reach the desired goal.
For each stage, we'll have specific tasks to accomplish with the funds we raise. Our plan is to keep the project dynamic and grow it in parallel with the increase in funding.
Right now, the project exists only as an idea. The goal of the current stage is to make this idea more specific and create a set of presentation materials that describe the future lab and its goals in detail. Based on these materials, we'll build a project website and social media presence. This will help us and our supporters promote the project more effectively. The more information people have about the project, the more actively they will help.
Support us right now! Technologies should serve the people! We and our children deserve to live in a free, fair, and prosperous society!
